The economic woes of the US
With the passing of the so called "stimulus package," by the Obama & The Democratic party (and a few moderate Republicans) the future for The United States looks even bleak. This statement does not come from some "half cocked," opinion. It comes from a very good look at what is going on. The bill itself has hidden "pork," in it even though Obama said in his press conference on Monday night that it didn't. That was very a misleading statement as he claimed that there were no "pet projects," in the bill that came from individuals. That does not mean that there are no pet projects from groups or that have been "kicking around," Congress, but couldn't get passed through the appropriations committee. It does contain a tax cut which will begin in July. That so called tax cut will be $20 more in your weekly check. How is $20 a week going to help anyone? Also it has a $15,000 tax break if you are buying a new home. Who can buy a new home? People with money? Do you think they don't already have a home? The credit market is so tight right now it is tough to get a any type of loan never mind a loan for a home. Then the bill has monies for infrastructure. Sure the US needs infrastructure repair for bridges and roads, but by the time the money actually gets into the economy it will be years. How is that going to help someone in Fort Myers today or next week? Since Obama bascially pushed this bill through without any true bi-partisan support he will take the heat when it fails. You might be thinking I don't know what I'm talking about. If so then look it up. I have. in 2003 PResident Bush tried to pass a bill to regulate Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac but was stopped by the democratic party. You say "So what?" It was organizations like them that lead THE US down this road by using sketchy lending practices to THE People of THE US in the first place. You might also be thinking I am prejudiced and don't like Obama. Well the latter is true. When someone who is trying to gain THE msot powerful office in the world and represnt THE American People and does not a wear a flag pin on his lapel, does not cross his heart when THE Nationa Anthem is being played, associates himself with Reverend Wright, has questionable eligibilty for THE Presidency, wants to take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizen and more, then yes I am VERY prejudiced. But for the color of his skin then it is a resounding no. Since one of THE most amazing women living in this great country is Vanessa Williams (who is not white). Also some of my other friends on MySpace are of equal quality and whom I also admire then it is unlikey I would base any decision on the color of anyone's skin. If Vanessa, or Jasmine Guy, or Condoleeza Rice were to gain the office Obama has then I would have supported them whole heartedly as they would have done a much better job of it than Obama has thus far. You might also be saying "Obama is such a great speaker." That is true if you look on the surface and forget any class you may have had on public speaking or communications. But if you look a bit closer you will see him using words like "Ok." Which is a word someone uses when they are trying to convince the audience of something. He also said "uh," on 22 occasions during his repsonse to the first question he was asked in his press conference on Monday. When someone uses "uh," they are not sure of what they are saying and are not holding the audience. It shows a lack of confidence. An ex-police officer I used to work with told me to never to say "uh." when you are trying to show confidence when speaking. If he knew that as a local officer then how can Obama be a "good," speaker? That is juist a few points of why is "not fit to lead," in my opinion. You are welcome to voice yours - I hope you have some facts to back it up. Please be respectful to others. We're ALL in this together
